tara vanderveer assistant coach
Tara
Vanderveer was first an assistant coach before she became the head coach of the
Stanford Cardinals. She started very young as an assistant coach but later on
she develop that strategic talent in order for her to become a head coach of a
team and not only an assistant coach. But in the past, Tara Vanderveer learned
so much when she was still an assistant coach. She learned everything from
there up until the point that she became the head coach of the Stanford
Cardinals and led the team in 2 NCAA championships way back in the year 1990 up
to the year 1992.
Aside
from being the head coach of the Stanford University, Tara Vanderveer also
coached international tournaments and became the head coach of the US women’s
national basketball team. During the 1996 Olympics, Tara Vanderveer was chosen
not as an assistant coach but as the head coach of the US national team and she
brought a gold medal as a result of her great coaching. After that, Tara
Vanderveer was again asked not just to be the assistant coach but to be the
head coach ones again of the US national team in the 1994 Sydney FIBA world
championship for women. Though she only brought a bronze medal during that
tournament but she was more than happy and proud coaching the national team of
the United States of America.
There
is no doubt that Tara Vanderveer is one of the greatest coaches in women’s
basketball history simply because she has a lot of achievements in her career.
Aside from that, a lot of basketball players, specifically women would always
seek her advice and idolize her as a great coach. I hope that Tara Vanderveer
will continue to have an amazing career as a head coach. She really has great
talent and coaching strategy in my own opinion and her achievements and track
record would be the evidence for it.
